WWE NXT 4th January 2017 (nothing happens)

So this week, like last week, there is no actual new NXT. Last week was the NXT event that happened a while ago where Shinsuke Nakamura beat Samoa Joe for the NXT Championship for the second time, in Japan. This week is the NXT event that happened a while ago in Australia where Nakamura successfully defended the title against Joe in a steel cage, effectively ending their rivalry (hopefully). 

Unlike the main roster, who seem like they're worked to the bone, unfortunately for them, it looks like the NXT roster had christmas and the new year off. Which is good, for them. Bad, for us. There were some matches, but they all seem insigificant, because they all happened before the episode of NXT 3 weeks ago when we last had some development (Bobby Roode becoming the number 1 contender, for example).

That is all. Hopefully next week will be an actual new episode of NXT. 

Also, Samoa Joe is being advertised for NXT touring events that are scheduled after the Royal Rumble (February, in fact), but this doesn't mean he won't be called up to the main roster at the rumble. On their Japan event, Nia Jax fought against Asuka, despite Nia being on the main roster. Joe may simply be touring with them to help the brand tour.
